James Milton “J.J.” Johnson, Jr.

Mr. James Milton “J.J.” Johnson, Jr., 76, of Gainesville passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Lanier Christian Church’s Lakeside Pavilion (at Gainesville Marina) with Rev. David Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Pavilion prior to the service.

Born on October 10, 1944 in Elizabeth, NJ, he was raised in Tuscaloosa, AL and East Point, GA. He was the son of the late James Milton Johnson and the late Elizabeth Rice Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a pharmacist in the Gainesville-Oakwood community for over 30 years before retiring from Dixie City Pharmacy. He was a member of Lanier Christian Church.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughters, Jocelyn Pryor and her husband Jonathan of Summerville, SC, Mackenzie Johnson and her husband Maurice Pitesky of Davis, CA, and his grandchildren, Nathaniel and Madison Pryor, Zephyr, Isadora, and Heron Pitesky.
