Mrs. Louise Edge Burnett, age 75, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Louise was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. She was born on May 6, 1946, to the late Homer and Bessie Grindle Edge. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son Jason Burnett, and sisters Lorraine Edge and Grace Edge. Louise was born on Homer Edge Road, and she lived there her entire life. She was a graduate of Lumpkin County High School. Louise had a love for horticulture, and she attended the University of North Georgia where she received her certificate in horticulture management. She loved her flowers and had her “victory garden” that friends and family would come to see. Louise was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Marion Burnett; daughters Jennifer Burnett and Kimberly Burnett, all of Dahlonega; her grandchildren, who called her “Mawmaw”, DJ Burnett, Jayla Burnett, Sara Cantrell, and Virginia Tevenal; great-grandson Liam Jax Burnett; brother and sister-in-law James and Hazel Edge, Dahlonega; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Ernest and Shirley Burnett, Clermont, and Johnny and Judy Burnett, Gainesville; niece Renee Smith (Ricky), Dahlonega; and several other nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 PM Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerry Whitlock and the Rev. Jeff Burnett will officiate. Interment will follow in Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
