Jessie Ferguson, age 85 of Cleveland, passed away Friday, August 6, 2021.
Mrs. Ferguson was born March 7, 1936 in Hall County to the late John Richard Boggs and Zora Allen Thompson Boggs. Jessie was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and the Shoal Creek Goodwill Circle. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ferguson, brothers and sisters-in-law, Wade and Catherine Boggs, Lake and Cora Lee Boggs; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Grady Anderson, Willie Mae and William Garland; sister-in-law, Ann Boggs.
Jessie was also known as Nanny Jessie by the many children she kept in her home. Jessie was a wonderful cook and her children could always drop by after work for a home cooked meal. She loved the outdoors and before Robert’s passing they could be found at Bald Mountain Campground most weekends.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James and Kathy Ferguson; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Michael Grizzle; brother, Johnny Boggs; grandchildren, Kristie and Alan Gooch, Brad and Trista Grizzle, Cindel and Hasten Page; great grandchildren, Kyle and Rheanna Gooch, Kaleb Gooch, Kason Gooch, Rylon Page, Declyn Page, Brolen Page; great-great grandchildren, Deacon Gooch and Rayna Gooch; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, August 8, 2021 in The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson and the Rev. Steve Baker will officiate. Interment will follow at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
