Ruth Tolbert Lance

Ruth Tolbert Lance, 69, of Cumming passed away Tuesday August 3, 2021.

Born January 18, 1952 in Lumpkin County to the late Leon “Cobb” and Belle “Big Mama” Tolbert, she had lived in Forsyth County for the past 50 years.  Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for others, cooking and styling hair.  She was very devoted to her children, her granddaughter, and all her family members.  She loved her little dog, Piper.

Surviving are her children, Gail and David Hester, Cumming, Scotty Lance, Cumming; granddaughter, Morgan Hester; sisters, Mary Jane Moore, Dahlonega, Carolyn Sheriff, Dawsonville, Margie Dillom, Dahlonega; brothers and sisters in law, Johnny and Barbara Tolbert, Dahlonega, James and Rita Tolbert, Dahlonega; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
