Eugene Fortner

        Mr. Eugene Fortner, age 82, of Jefferson, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his residence.

        Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Memorial Park Funeral Home East Braselton Chapel. Interment to follow in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, August 6, 2021 at the funeral home.

        Mr. Fortner was born September 11, 1938 in Jackson County, Georgia. He was the son of the late Oscar William Fortner and Lelia Elizabeth (Gunter) Fortner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Ruth Munn and a son Edward Eugene Fortner.

        He is survived by his children, Christine and Terry McDaniel of Braselton; Shirley and Mike Palmer of Jefferson; Johnny Fortner and Kim Palmer of Talmo; 12 grandchildren, Tammy Parr and Eddie King of Jefferson; Genia Green and Rusty Parker of Braselton; Jason McDaniel of Braselton; Crystal and Kenny Alford of Athens; A.J. Fortner of Nicholson; Christopher Fortner of Jefferson; Willy Fortner and Misty Forbs of Nicholson; Kayla Ray and Ryan of Gainesville; Kristina Fortner of Braselton; Katie Palmer McDaniel and Junior of Auburn; Johnathan Fortner of Hoschton; Christina McDaniel and Donald Ivy of Hoschton; his 28 great grandchildren; Chelsea Fields and Jason, Savannah Bray; Owen and Payton Green; Chandler and Clarissa McDaniel; Bella, Chloe and Nathaniel Alford; Sophia, Sady Fortner; Scarlet Edidson; Isabel Fortner; Zandra Fortner, Leigha, Thomas and Kaylee Ray; Ava Lynn Fortner; Charlie, Sabastan and Lilian Fortner; Morgan, Jase Mason and Wyatt McDaniel; Levi and Brooklyn Ivy; 6 great great-grandchildren, Haven, Bently and Gannon; Everligh and Amelia Bray; 9 nieces and 6 nephews
