Ruenell Southerland Loftin, age 65, of Buford, GA passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Chad Loftin; mother, Joyce Southerland; and father-in-law, Samuel Loftin. She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Steve Loftin, Buford, GA; children, Amy (Stanley) Swain, Winder, GA, Amanda (Doug) Faulkner, Winder, GA; grandchildren, Trey Loftin, Fort Benning, GA, Tyler Summerfield, Fort Bragg, NC, Kendrick Bradberry, Winder, GA, Trevor Summerfield, Winder, GA; father, Rev. Arthur Southerland, Sugar Hill, GA; brother, Rev. Frankie (Celia) Southerland, Buford, GA; sister, Susan (Don) Hughes, Braselton, GA; mother-in-law, Virginia Loftin, Dallas, GA; brother-in-law, Scott (Michelle) Loftin, Dallas, GA; uncle, J.L. Southerland, Powder Springs, GA; aunt, Marynell Turner, Dallas, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Loftin was born on February 24, 1956 in Dallas, GA. She was a 1973 graduate of North Gwinnett High School. She was a retired accountant from Vistar Company for twelve years. She was a member of West Buford Baptist Church, Buford, GA. Funeral services will be held, Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Southerland, Rev. Andrew Southerland, and Rev. Adam Southerland officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation (http://www.alzfdn.org/ ) in memory of Ruenell Southerland Loftin.
