Mrs. Elizabeth “Libby” Adams, age 78, of Dahlonega passed away Sunday, August 1, 2021.
Mrs. Adams was born in Cobb County on June 26, 1943, to the late Theodore Roosevelt and Ruth Elizabeth Cobb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Willard Youngblood, Ernest Wimpy, and Bud Adams; brothers Gene Cobb, Bill Cobb, and Roy Cobb; and stepsons Roy Wimpy, Carl Wimpy, Jack Wimpy, and Joey Adams. When Libby was young, she loved to play the piano. Her favorite pastimes were buck-dancing and traveling. She loved her church, Concord Baptist, where she sang in the choir. Libby looked forward to her Friday lunch dates with her best friend Shirley Boatfield. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Missing her most will be her son and son-in-law Frank Youngblood, and Robert Kahn; daughter Bonnie Coleman; son and daughter-in-law Wiley and Hazel Wimpy; daughter and son-in-law Sabra and Rex Cain, all of Dahlonega; stepson Bud Wimpy, Cleveland; stepson and daughter-in-law Allen and Elaine Wimpy, Griffin; stepson Melvin Wimpy, Dahlonega; stepdaughter Marjorie Mason, Dahlonega; stepson and daughter-in-law Jeff and Tracey Wimpy, Gainesville; sister-in-law Sarah Cobb, Dawsonville; grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Nana”, Gabrielle and Ken Caldwell, Jacob Payne, Jeremiah Payne, Ozilline Schrader-Ray; great-grandson (on the way) Sawyer Caldwell, all of Dahlonega; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Concord Baptist Church. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday and 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
