Bennie Lomax age 81 of Gainesville entered rest Sunday August 1, 2021 at his residence.
Bennie was born November 27, 1939 in Alto, Georgia to the late Elmer & Dimie Coley Lomax. He worked as a service repairman with sears, but also had a cattle farm & poultry farm. One of his favorite past times was bowling. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Greenway Lomax; sister, Ruby Hudson; brothers, Bobby Lomax & Jip Lomax.
Survivors include, son, Raymond Kirby (Sheila) Lomax; daughters, Kimberly Ann Bales & Beverly Jean (Stewart) Tanner; brother, Jimmy Lomax; sister, Nora Bell Jones; grandchildren, Ryan Bales, Autumn Tanner, Michael Tanner & Morgan Lomax.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday August 4, 2021 at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bradley Elliott & Rev. Mark Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday August 3, 2021 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Youth Bowling League at Station 300 Gainesville.
