Beverly Ann Gibbemeyer Barker died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 1, 2021 following an extended illness.
She was born on October 27, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended St. John Catholic School and graduated from Mt. Healthy High School in 1971 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She enjoyed horseback riding and loved interacting with people. She began her career as a restaurant manager in Ohio and New Orleans, Louisiana with Al Copeland at Copeland's Restaurant. She went on to work for Popeye's as a Systems Manager and as a Training Consultant.
Beverly and her husband Michael Nix Barker met in Bremen, Georgia at a motor cross race. They were married on November 3, 2001 and remained soul mates and best friends until her death.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Sebastian and Rita Jean Grusemeyer Gibbemeyer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Samuel Kimsey and Dorothy Nell Nix Barker; grandparents, August Gibbemeyer and Paul and Josephine Grusemeyer; grandmother-in-law, Pearl Conner Nix; brother, Dale Gibbemeyer, aunt, Maxine Bogel and cousin, Christopher Bogel.
She is survived by her husband of twenty years, Michael Nix Barker; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Phyllis Gibbemeyer of Ross, Ohio; sister-in-law, Carol Gibbemeyer, Cincinnati, Ohio; nephews, Adam Gibbemeyer, a National Special Olympics Bocce Ball Champion, Jake (Erin) Gibbemeyer, Eric Gibbemeyer, Dale Gibbemeyer, Jr. (Lindsey), Dr. Zackery Gibbemeyer and grand-nephews, Charlie Gibbemeyer, Ryan Gibbemeyer; cousins, Carol and Jerry Ramsey; special friends, Jerri (Cheeks) Merricle her children and grandchildren, Tracy Wright, Sandy Ward, Sondra Bertrand and many more.
A visitation will be held Sunday August 8, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday August 9, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Fields will officiate.
