Michael Charles Nelson

Michael Charles Nelson, age 78, of Buford, GA, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Nelson; children, Sandra Zimmerman (James) of Buford, GA, Theresa Fryar of Marietta, GA, Michelle Metzig (Kurt) of Hibbing, MN, Julie Tedcschi of Middletown, CT, Laurie Gentempo (Patrick) of Park City, UT, and Jonathan Nelson of Lebanon, TN; ten grandchildren; brother, Howard Nelson of Zepher Hills, FL; sister, Karen Campbell (Russell) of Springfield, MA; several nieces, nephew and cousins.  Mr. Nelson was born on February 12, 1943 in Holyoke, MA.  He graduated from Chicopee High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  Mr. Nelson owned Associate Transport Group in Buford, GA.  A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA, with Rev. Case Koolhaus, officiating.
