Terrell Winford Chapman

Terrell Winford Chapman, 79 of Clermont, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at NGMC-ICU. The family will receive friends Friday, August 6th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Memorial Park North on Riverside, 989 Riverside Dr. Gainesville, GA 30501.  A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 7th at 11:00 AM at The American Legion Pavilion, 2343 Riverside Dr. Gainesville, GA 30501.  Senior Pastor Mike Taylor of Central Baptist Church will officiate.

Terrell was fondly known as “Terry”, “Mumbles” & “T”.  Terrell was born October 14th, 1941, in Gainesville.  He is preceded in death by his father Jess M. Chapman, mother Acie L. Helton Chapman, and brother Charles W. Chapman. Terrell graduated from Gainesville High School and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia.

Terrell quickly excelled in his lifelong profession in both the residential and commercial construction industries.  He built and/or contracted countless structures in New Jersey and throughout Georgia.  Prioritizing education, many of his building contributions were centered in and around college campuses; including UGA, Brenau University and the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega.   

Terrell was an avid reader and thinker.  He enjoyed music, scenic drives, the lake, and boating activities.  He was dedicated to staying physically and mentally fit.  He began working out, swimming, and walking several miles routinely at age 50.  He took great pleasure in sharing his love of horses and regularly attended various horse show events.  He cared deeply for his family and friends.  He was devoted to supporting and encouraging others in their endeavors by generously sharing his wisdom, time, help, and heart.      

Terrell is survived by this brothers C. Mitch (Ruth) Chapman, David T. Chapman and K. Wayne (Vivian) Chapman.  His daughter Heather Chapman (Preston J.) Skinner. Son T. Keith (Katy) Chapman. Granddaughter Alexandria N. Chapman and grandson Ethan Z. Chapman.  Nephews Tim Chapman, Ty (LuRee) Chapman, Todd (Sheila) Chapman, Baker Chapman and Brent Chapman.  Niece Jessica Chapman.  Also, several grandnieces and grandnephews.

Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel, 989 Riverside Drive Gainesville is in charge of arrangements.
