Edward Cox, 91, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday July 21, 2021 following a period of declining health.
Born September 7, 1929 to the late Erv and Vada Cox, he was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Edward was a retired farmer and was also formerly employed by Pillsbury. He was a member of Juno Baptist Church and was very devoted to his family. Mr. Cox was also preceded in death by his sisters, Madge Stephens, Emily McClure, Blanch Hope, Floreed Waters; and brothers, Wayne Cox, Walter Cox, Raleigh Cox, Cornell Cox, Ralph Cox, Homer Cox and David Cox.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Joyce Cox, Dawsonville; children, Karen Minor, Gainesville; Keith and Gayla Cox, Dacula; grandchildren, Megan and Greg Maddox, Courtney and Bobby Holgate, Christopher Minor, Caitlin Minor; great grandchildren, Zackery Maddox, Zoey Maddox, Autumn Holgate, Lily Holgate; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 24, 2021 at 3 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Phillip Burt and Rev. Gerral Richards will officiate. Interment will follow in the Juno Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 until 3 at the funeral home.
