Joseph Anthony “Tony” Szatkowski

Mr. Joseph Anthony “Tony” Szatkowski, age 52 of Lula, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.      

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Glory Baptist Church, 1104 Pine Valley Road, Gainesville, 30501.  Pastor Randy Roys will officiate.  Private graveside service will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lula.  The family will receive friends on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Szatkowski was born August 13, 1968 in Decatur, Georgia to the Leon Szatkowski and Linda Johnston Trotter.  He was the owner and operator of Omega Stump Grinding and was a member of Glory Baptist Church.  Tony was preceded in death by his father, Leon Szatkowski.  He was a wonderful son, husband, father and grandfather and made many friends along life’s journey.  Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. 

Mr. Szatkowski is survived by his wife of 7 years, Leah Davenport Szatkowski of Lula, his daughter, Olivia Szatkowski of Toccoa, his son, Oliver Szatkowski of Lula, his God-daughter & her husband, Leia & Dustin Tritt of Commerce, his step-son, Michael Herrin of Smyrna, Georgia, his 4 grandchildren, his mother & step-father, Linda & Walt Trotter of Lula, his brothers & sisters-in-law, Darrell & Kelly Szatkowski of Lula and Eric & Melinda Szatkowski of McDonough, Georgia, his step-brothers, Brent Trotter and Brian Trotter, both of Louisiana and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.  Also surviving is his bestest buddy, Chad Walker of Gainesville and brother by choice, Jackey Robertson of Lula.
