Glossipene Latrelle McNeal

On July 20, 2021, Mrs. Glossipene Latrelle "Retta" McNeal, 57 of Gainesville, GA departed this life in Athens, Georgia. She was born on May 22,1964 in Elberton, GA, to the late Zola B. Brown and June Eberhardt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry James McNeal Sr., daughter Lisa Brown and brother Robert Eberhardt. Retta enjoyed life. In 1989 she married her best friend and love of her life. Later they moved from Gainesville and spent several years in Fairfax, SC before relocating back to Gainesville, GA and living, what came to be, their final years. Together Forever No Matter What. Through the loved ones she's left behind, Retta will truly be missed but remembered by her family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter Cynthia Alexander; sons Leon Brown, and Chyris McNeal (Jessica Lonon); grandchildren, Keanna Brown, Leondric Brown, Javason Brown, Jazmin Brown, A'Riyah Lonon-McNeal, Delenzo Cox, Keilani Brown and Kaniya Bryant; siblings, Debra Maxey (LeRoy), Sharlet Styles, Patricia Howard, Dorothy Stowers, Lester Raymond, Charlie Eberhardt, David Eberhardt, George Eberhardt (Gloria), John Gaines (Mary), Johnnie Lee Brown, Mitchell Eberhardt and Spencer Fortson (Brenda); niece Sanquela Fortson; in-laws, Her beloved Aunt Nora Walker; caring niece Keyba Franklin and a host of other family and friends. “We will not look at her as being gone, but another angel that God needed next to him to look down upon us, that are still on this earth.” The Memorial Service for Mrs. McNeal will be held Saturday, July 23rd at Wimberly Funeral Home at the hour of 1pm.
