David Arnold McConnell, Sr.

David Arnold McConnell Sr., 81, passed away Wednesday July 14, 2021 at his home in Maysville, GA.  David was born on June 13, 1940 in Atlanta, GA., to the late William and Virginia Shead McConnell.

Mr. McConnell was a faithful follower of Christ, loving and devoted husband to wife Anita, generous and caring father and grandfather.  He loved antique cars, loved Christian hymns, participating in church events at Riverbend Baptist Church where he was a member and taking care of his daycare he and Anita worked to diligently to grow as a part of the Gainesville community.  His favorite passion was his family and spending time with his many grandchildren, all of which he was especially proud of.

In addition to his parents David is preceded in death by his wife of 44 yrs., Anita Jarrett McConnell and son Michael Nicholson.

He is survived by his 3 sons, David A. McConnell Jr., and his wife Maria, Sean McConnell and his wife Emily and Derick Stephen McConnell and his wife Tina, grandsons; David C.,   William S., Derick F. McConnell, granddaughters; Tricia Meredith,  Angela Nicholson, and Presley L. McConnell; great-grandson; Weston.

Visitation will be Friday July 16, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be Saturday July 17, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Joe Payton and Rev. Jack Chalmers officiating.  Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens, Gainesville.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in David's memory.
