Mr. Danny Charles “Dan” Dalton 74 of Cleveland, Ga passed away on Monday July 12, 2021 following a brief illness.
A public visitation will be held on Saturday July 17, 2021 from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Dan was born on November 13, 1946 in Indiana to the late John Dennis Dalton and Violet June Dalton Wikle. He was retired from General Service Administration. Dan served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1969 and held the rank of Sargent.
He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a general engineering degree and a fire protection engineering degree. Engineering was his career and he was very successful in his 34 years of service with General Services Administration. He also taught at Georgia Tech and Southern Poly Tech for a time. He started a consulting business and testified at many civil and criminal trials for the defense and his testimony, knowledge, and expertise always ended with the defense prevailing.
Family and friends were also a big part of his life. If you were lucky enough to be in his circle there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for you and never expected or wanted anything in return. You could always depend on Dan.
He loved being outside and all outdoor activities, fishing, kayaking, and riding jet skis are just a few. And he had some great stories to tell about his many adventures, and could really spin a tale.
He also enjoyed playing the stock market because as he’d tell you, he liked making money and of course he excelled in that regard.
He taught himself to cook and enjoyed planning and preparing meals, especially for his grandchildren. His favorite meal to prepare was Thanksgiving and it was always a feast.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Dean Dalton. Mr. Dalton is survived by his wife, Kelly Turner Dalton of Cleveland, Ga, son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Jennifer Dalton of Statham, Ga, son, Richard Brown of Loganville, Ga, daughter, Sabrina Robinson of Covington, Ga, grand-children, Drake Dalton, Brooks Dalton, Madison Brown, Emma Kate Stanley and Elaina Stanley, sister and brother-in-law, Kim McManama and Mike Mott of Michigan, sister, Janice Haston of Indiana, several nieces, nephews and other close friends and relatives also survive.
