Faye Segars Adams

Obituary Date: Sunday, July 11, 2021

Mrs. Faye Segars Adams, age 78 passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.  She was the wife of the late James Monroe Adams.  They shared 49 years of marriage.

 

Born in Franklin County to Lucille Segars Banks Carter, Faye was also greatly loved as a daughter by her step-father, the late Kermit Carter.  She attended Toccoa High School and graduated with honors from Truett McConnell College.  She owned and operated a hair salon for over 25 years and taught cosmetology at Stephens County High School from 1971-1992. She then continued her teaching career at Lanier Technical School and retired I 1998.  She was a born-again Christian and a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.  She ministered to her church family by playing the organ, developing a church library and serving others.  She will be remembered by all for her love and generosity and her ability to never meet a stranger.

 

She is survived by her four children, Shelia Bruns of Toccoa and her daughter, Amy Griggs, Susan and Randall Seavers and their children, Anna, Elizabeth, Mark, Leah, Chloe and Abigail all of Lynchburg, Virginia, their married children, Luke and Semone Seavers of Hanahan, South Carolina and Andrew and Megan Seavers of North Charleston, South Carolina, son, Bobby Adams of Toccoa; daughter, Samantha and Jeremy Eller and their sons, Carter and Colton of Toccoa.  In addition to her twelve grandchildren, she dearly loved her eight great-grandchildren, Tristan, Trinity, Grace, Selah, Allie, Caleb, Clay and Ria, whom she loved dearly.

 

Faye is also survived by much loved siblings, her half-brother and his wife, Dykes and Diana Dalrymple of Carnesville; half-sister, Jean Banks Aldridge of Oregon; two step-brothers and their wives, Farris and Julia Carter and Edward and Linda Carter all from the Atlanta area,  Precious family, John and Doris Adams of Toccoa and Bill and Peggy Adams of Little Rock, Arkansas were dear in-laws with whom Faye grew up and received much comfort and support especially after the passing of James in 2004.

 

Funeral services will be Friday, July 16, 2021, 11 O’clock a.m. at the Rock Creek Baptist Church with The Reverend Ken Jackson officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Darrin Dalrymple, Luke Seavers, Andrew Seavers, Clarence Eller and Dale Wood.

 

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

 

Interment will follow in the Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Faye Segars Adams.
