Loyd Stephens

Mr. Loyd Stephens, 82, of Gillsville, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Boone Strickland will officiate. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Born on September 12, 1938 in Gainesville, he was the son of the late John Stephens and the late Carrie Ellis Stephens. He was retired from Pilgrim’s Pride where he was a mechanic. Mr. Stephens was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stephens is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Jeanette Stephens and brother, Grover Stephens.

Mr. Stephens is survived by his daughters, Sharon Samples of Gainesville, Terry Bagwell (Curtis) of Gainesville, son, Matthew Stephens (Jenny), Jennifer Stephens; grandchildren and spouses, C.J. Randolph (Todd), Justin Samples (Breanna), Brittany Smith (Jeffrey) Courtney Chavez (Alex); 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Westmoreland, Lois Bishop (Ted); brothers, Edward Stephens (Martha), Horace Stephens (Jo); sister in law, Gladys Stephens and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
