Jeffery Harold Head

Jeffery Harold Head, 58, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away July 7, 2021 at Gold City Health and Rehab in Dahlonega, GA.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 13, at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 pm.  Pastor Gregory Supianoski and Bruce Steffens will officiate.  Internment at Memorial Park Cemetery will follow the service. 

Jeff was born on February 9, 1963 in Peekskill, NY, the son of Lloyd H. Head, Sr. and Marion Lancaster Head.  He grew up in Gainesville, GA.  Jeff served for a short time in the US Army.  He spent 30 years on the road driving 18 wheelers, finally becoming an owner/operator of his own rig.  Jeff married Janet Loux in 1983 and were married for 37 years at his death.  Jeff authored two books.  Running Legal Blues: A Trucker’s True Life Quest described a tragic accident that he witnessed and his principle of driving within the legal constraints of truckers.  Driving Safe: Both In and Around 18 Wheelers hopes to educate drivers on trucker’s capabilities.  Jeff certainly advocated for truckers to run legally and without reprisal from the demanding trucking industry.  Jeff was awarded the One Million Mile Award (without an accident).  He was a long time member of Evangel Assembly of God, Gainesville GA.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd Head, Sr. and Marion Lancaster Head, as well as his brother Lloyd Head, Jr. and sister Kathy Head.Mr. Head is survived by his wife, Janet L. Head, son Joshua L. Head, sisters Judy Head (Danny),   Dianna Allison, and brothers Donald Head, Loroy Head, Dean Head, Jay Head(Sherri), Gerald Conklin, and Alex Head, and 25 nieces and nephews.
