Mrs. Doris Keeling Ivester, age 92 of Talmadge Drive, Toccoa passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Luther and Mamie Smith Keeling, she was born September 27, 1928 in Stephens County, Georgia having lived in Stephens and Habersham most of her life. She was employed with Wright’s Manufacturing for a number of years and a homemaker. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was the last member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ernest Ivester in 2000, son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Julia Ivester and by her siblings, Reid Keeling, Vela Black, Agnes Keeling and Jewell Harrison.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Hayes of Toccoa; grandchildren, Wendy and Chad Thomas, Amy and Billy Yearwood and Julie and Jeremy Boatright all of Toccoa; great-grandchildren, Ivey Yearwood, Tyler Boatright, Mason Boatright, Khloe Boatright, Savannah Thomas and Davin Thomas; close friend, someone she felt as a daughter, Connie Dickerson and her husband Bronson of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 10, 2021, 3 O’clock p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with The Reverend David Harbin, The Reverend Brian Stephens and The Reverend Chris Webb officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Sam Ivester, Dennis Ivester, Tyler Boatright, Mason Boatright, David Irvin and Randy Caudell.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Stacy Ivester officiating.
