Patricia Charlene (Nichols) Walker

Patricia Charlene (Nichols) Walker, age 82, of Westerville, OH formerly of Gainesville and Cleveland, GA , died peacefully on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at her home.  Longtime Customer Service Employee at Kroger Store in Westerville, where she was highly praised for her ability to communicate and care for her customers and was honored by Kroger Management for her attitude and ability to always have a kind word and a smile for her customers.  She treated people the way she would want to be treated.  She felt that might be the only kind word and smile that a person would receive that day.  Pat liked to bowl, joined a league and did quite well.  She moved from Florida to Ohio in 2014 to be with her companion, William Loop.  

Pat was born February 11, 1939 in Delaware County, OH to the late Jesse J. and Jessie M. (Finlay) Nichols.  She graduated from Olentangy High School, Class of 1957.  Pat’s first job was at Ohio Bell, from there she went into the hospitality industry which she loved and which she excelled.  The service she provided to her customers was to make sure they had the best experience in any establishment in which she served.  

In addition to her parents, Pat was also preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, B.J. Walker whom she met while working in Columbus; sister, Dorothy Ann Nichols Flynn-Hall; brother, Robert Karl Nichols.

Pat is survived by sons, Bruce (Kim) Walker and John Walker; and two daughters she was gifted with from B.J.’s previous marriage, Mary Louise (Eddie) Walker Pierce and Theresa Walker; sister, Terrill “Jo” (Jerry) Alexander; brother, Dean Edwin (Carolyn) Nichols; nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, July 16, 2021 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Mossy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2 :00 PM Friday, July 16, 2021 at the funeral home.
