Fred McDaniel

Mr. Fred McDaniel, age 80, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on July 1, 2021. He was born on June 11, 1941 in Duluth to the late Howard McDaniel and the late Lillie Mae Garmon. He was employed by the Fulton County Board of Education and was of the Baptist faith. He was a barefooted lover of the mountains who also loved to work on cars and would not hesitate to speak his mind.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Gene McDaniel and a sister, Rubi Mae Kelley.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Reeves of Dahlonega; daughters, Lisa (Steve) Vaughan of Murrayville, and Kristy (David) Cheatham of Cleveland; sister, Margie Kelley of Cumming; grandchildren who knew him as "Papa", Stephanie and Anthony Sullens, Danika Mooney, Stacey and Justin Davis, Amanda and Dusty Kenimer, Mathew and Robyn Gayton; great-grandchildren, Garrett Mooney, Corbin Mooney, Trenten Sullens, Dalton Kenimer, Berkley Davis, Ashten Sullens, Tinley Kenimer, Tanner Davis, Levi Gayton, and Luke Gayton. He is also survived by numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Chatham and Rev. Steve Barrett officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM in Peachtree Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 5, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
