Lessie Porter Teems

Lessie Porter Teems, age 89, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, July 1, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Gerald Teems; parents, George W. and Mamie Ward Porter; sisters, Thelma Thrasher, Lonia Roberts, Elsie Porter Maddox and husband, Vollie; brothers, Herman Porter and Lewis Porter; grandson, Kase Gerald Bowman; nephew, Tristan Roberts; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Harold and Betty Teems, J. D. and Ann Mahaffey; Bobby and Myra Teems; and Doyle Brown.  Mrs. Teems is survived by son and daughter-in-law, George and Glenda Teems; granddaughters, Samantha and Jacob Hunter and Sara and Brandon Bowman; great grandchildren, Andi and Kendall Bowman, Ben Hunter and Walker Lee Bowman; sisters-in-law, Sherry Brown and Imogene Porter; brothers-in-law, Bonnie Roberts and Lloyd Thrasher; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Teems was born November 25, 1931 in Buford, GA. She was a graduate of Sugar Hill School in Sugar Hill, GA. Mrs. Teems was a retired secretary from Rock Tenn after forty plus years of service. She was a long-time member of Faith Baptist Church when she served as a Sunday school teacher and played the piano for many years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Travis McDaniel and Rev. George Teems officiating. Interment will follow at Faith Baptist Church Cemetery, 829 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA  30024. The family will receive friends at Faith Baptist Church, 829 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA 30024 on July 3, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. There will be no visitation at the Flanigan Funeral Home.
