Alfred J. (Bill) Coker
On June 28, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, Bill left this world to reside in his heavenly home.
Born on March 4, 1930, to Frank John & Nannie Seay Coker, Bill is preceded in death by his sisters, Louise Porter & Katherine Coker and his brother, Jimmie Lee Coker. Bill is survived by his faithful & caring wife of 61 years, Mary Jo; daughter, Sheila Anne & Todd Chapman; son, Billy & Lori; son, Joey & Becky; son, Vince & Michelle, grands, Tabitha, Ashley, Roberto, Will, Morgan, Annah, Josie, Jess, Lauren, Whitney & Jacob; greats, Davis, Liliana, & Hank; sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Harriette & Bill Taylor; niece, Mollye Taylor; several other nieces & nephews survive; last but not least, Bill’s constant companion, a little Jack Russell named Honey!
Bill was strong & steadfast in his love for his family. Our papa was quiet, but his laugh could fill the room. He cherished family get-togethers, camping with his wife, Jo & his grandchildren. He also loved cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs with his three sons. We are all better for knowing him & take comfort in the knowledge that he is absent from his body but present with the Lord.
He bravely served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean War & will be honored with a military graveside. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday June 30, 2021 at the Alta Vista Cemetery with Rev. Clyde Self officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Humane Society of Forsyth County, Georgia.
