Jean Trammell

Obituary Date: Saturday, June 26, 2021

Mrs. Jean Trammell, age 81, of Dahlonega passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021. 

Mrs. Trammell was born in Lumpkin County on September 23, 1939 to the late Henry and Amanda Hester Gerrells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Betty Cantrell and Nell Moore, and her brother Wayne Gerrells. Mrs. Trammell served the Lumpkin County School System for more than forty years. Her career spanned from the elementary school to the high school and then to administrative assistant to the superintendent from which she retired. Mrs. Trammell loved to cook and spend time with her family whom she loved deeply, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church. Mrs. Trammell was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Missing her most will be her beloved husband of 63 years, E.F. Trammell; son and daughter-in-law William and Sherri Trammell; daughter Patricia Simmons; her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Grandma”, Ryan Simmons, Tyler and Ellie Trammell, and Tara Trammell; great-grandchildren Averie Simmons and Addyson Simmons; brother and sister-in-law John and Jimmie Sue Gerrells, all of Dahlonega; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, June 28, 2021 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at the funeral Home.
