Linda Hamby Brewer

Mrs. Linda Hamby Brewer, age 74, of Toccoa passed away Thursday June 24, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A daughter of the late Clyde Doyle and Minnie Mae Sneezy Hamby, she was born March 14, 1947 in Oconee County, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She owned and operated the Georgia Trading Post and Baby Barn in Toccoa. She was of the Baptist faith. She was reared by her grandmother Nana O’Bryant. She was preceded in death by her husband Harley Pitts, brother Donnie Matthews and a sister Juanita Champion.

Survivors include a step-son Wade Brewer of Atlanta, Georgia, brothers Doyle Stephens of Walhalla, South Carolina Jimmy Matthews of Union, South Carolina, Kenny and Dennis Matthews of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Billy Hamby of Fountain Inn, South Carolina, Clyde Hamby Jr. of Tifton, Georgia and Keith Hamby of Walhalla, South Carolina, sisters Kathy Thackston of Simpsonville, South Carolina, Wanda Fretwell of Tifton, Georgia and Tina Hall of Toccoa, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Monday June 28, 2021 at 2 P.M. at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from noon until service time.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park in Walhalla, South Carolina.
