Mr. Leon Padgett Jr., age 46 of Lavonia, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in a head on collision near his home. Survivors of the crash were his 3 ½ year daughter Lexis Padgett and his fiancé’, Cynthia Yancey both of the home.
Leon was born April 6, 1975 in Baltimore County, Maryland having lived in Stephens and Franklin Counties most of his life. Leon believed in God and was of the Pentecostal Faith. His favorite book of the Bible was Romans. His favorite color was blue and his favorite song was Best Day of My Life. He loved life (and Budweiser, lol . He never met a stranger and has given the shirt off his back many times. He loved to joke and make people laugh and was always doing something for others, but most of all Leon loved his children more than life itself. He was preceded in death by a sister, Athalia Padgett and by an infant grandson Paul Padgett.
Leon is survived by his mom and dad, Sharon and Reverend Jack Martin and his grandmother, Josephine Long all of Trinity, North Carolina; his father, Leon Padgett, Sr. and his wife Patricia of Aberdeen, Maryland; sons, Leon Padgett, III and Emerald Weldon of Royston, Georgia and Steven Padgett and his wife Erica of Toccoa; daughter, Brook Padgett of Lavonia and their mother, Catina Padgett of Lavonia; granddaughter, Arial Padgett of Royston and grandson to be of Toccoa; brothers, Christopher Padgett and Nicholas Padgett both of Aberdeen, Maryland; sister, Amanda Padgett of Aberdeen, Maryland; his fiancé’s children, Heather Yancey and her two sons of Royston, Shawn Mays of Lavonia, John Ross Mays of the home and their grandmother, Elaine Yancey of Lavonia; and all his family and friends too numerous to name.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 24, 2021, 1 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jack Martin officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 11 O’clock a.m. until the service time. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Leon Padgett, Jr.
