Mrs. Betty Jo Lee Poole, age 77 of Walton Creek Drive, Toccoa passed away Thursday June 17, 2021 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Joseph King Lee and Betty Garrison Lee, she was born February 27, 1944 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was a 1962 graduate of Toccoa High School and attended Piedmont College. She was employed with WABCO for 17 years and retired from Pruitt Corporation with 16 years of service. She was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church, member and past President of Toccoa Pilot Club, member of Elks Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of Toccoa Cotillion, Board Member of the Stephens County Historical Society and a Volunteer at the Currahee Military Museum.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James Larry Poole of the home; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Dwight Anderson of Watkinsville, Georgia, Teresa and Wesley Farr of Jonesboro, Georgia and Karen Parker of Grayson, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday June 19, 2021 at 2 P.M. at the Hill Street Baptist Church with The Reverend Paul Garrison and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. Nephews and nieces will serve as pallbearers, Eric Anderson, Leigh Anderson, Josh Anderson, Nancy Pride, Andy Farr, Chelsea Phillips, Isaac Parker and Heidi Parker.
The following groups will serve as honorary pallbearers Elks Auxiliary, Toccoa Pilot Club and Toccoa Cotillion.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 11:30 A.M. til 1:30 P.M.
Flowers are optional but memorials are preferred and may be made to Currahee Military Museum, 160 N. Alexander Street, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 or Elks Aidmore Children’s Home, 2394 Morrison Road, Conyers, Georgia 30094 or to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mrs. Betty Jo Poole.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Butch Franklin officiating.
