Ruth Ella Payne Justus

Ruth Ella Payne Justus, age 76 of Lula, Georgia took her Heavenly flight home on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 following an extended illness.

Born in the Hollingsworth Community of Banks County, Georgia on December 15, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Holman & Catherine Broome Payne. Affectionately known as “Eller”, Ruth was a homemaker & worked in the poultry farming industry with her husband for over 39 years. She was steadfast in her daily walk with the Lord and used her gifts to minister to others by sending care packages to those in the community who were homebound. “Eller” was known for her cooking, especially her biscuits and fried pies. Most of all, she adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth was a member of Line Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Annease McDuffie & Ethel Evans.

Survivors include her husband of 59 ½ years, Lloyd Justus of Lula, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Cynthia & Jeff Alvord of Tucker, GA; Pam & Paul Hebert of Commerce, GA; Marsha & Wayne Story of Carlton, GA; sisters, Betty Kimsey of Calhoun, GA; Ann Wikle of Cornelia, GA; Carolyn Moody of Baldwin, GA; brother, Tony McDuffie of Baldwin, GA; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, & a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Lula with Rev. Kenneth McEntire, Rev. Billy Burrell, & Rev. Jeremy Carlan officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m until 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
