Robert Douglas "Doug" Trotman, age 79, of Habersham County, Georgia went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 9.
Born July 30, 1941, in Hollywood, Habersham County, GA, he was the son of Rev. William Aaron Trotman and Christabel Foster Trotman. He was a graduate of Stephens County High School and worked at Gilbert & Bennett as a shipping clerk. He was a member of Toccoa First Baptist Church for many years before moving to Clarkesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved step-mother, Hazel Brown Trotman, sisters Mary Jo Gomillion and Dortha Ann Arceneaux; brothers W.A. Trotman, Jr, Sam Trotman, and Ron Trotman.
Doug is survived by his sister, Sue Trotman Fitzgerald of Lancaster, PA, his sister-in-law, Dorothy McClain Trotman of Montgomery, AL and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Trotman Lottie-Moon Fund of First Baptist Church, 475 E. Tugalo St., Toccoa, GA 30577.
Graveside services will be held at Stephens Memorial Gardens, Toccoa, on Sunday, June 13 at 3:30 with Rev. David Ritchey officiating.
