Ommie Lee Standridge, age 76 of the Hollywood Community, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer over the past three years.
Born in Turnerville, Georgia on August 28, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Samuel G. Densmore and Ethel Lethia Dover Densmore. Mrs. Standridge retired from Lee Arrendale State Prison after many years of service. She was nominated for the GOAL Student Award from North Georgia Technical College and was a foster parent for a number of years. Mrs. Standridge was a loving wife, mother and mema.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Densmore and Samuel Densmore, Jr.; sisters, Iolar Ivester and Mary Adams.
Surviving are her husband, Winford W. “Red” Standridge of Hollywood; daughters and sons-in-law, Connie & Mitchell Brewster of Mt. Airy and Sandra & Jimmy Maness of Hollywood; grandchildren, Lee Humphrys, Jacob Brewster, Marissa Strickland, Jessica Simpson (Cody); sisters, Clara Ivester of Turnerville and Lou Helen Turpin of Hollywood; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, June 5, 2021 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Tim Holcomb officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, everyone is invited to attend.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
