Rev. Michael Melvin Spurr, Jr.

Rev. Michael Melvin Spurr, Jr., age 50, of Dawsonville, GA went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Michael was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Cumming, GA.  He pastored Christian Hill Baptist Church, Lower Shady Grove Baptist Church, North Roswell Baptist Church, Welcome Home Baptist Church, Lebanon Baptist Church in Gwinnett County, and Trinity Baptist Church in Dawsonville, where he was serving as their current pastor. Michael was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Dan and Helen Flannery, and Lucille Spurr; step-dad, Robert Rankin; and father-in-law, Bobby Westbrook.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Melinda Spurr; parents, Millie Rankin, and Michael (Lynn) Spurr, Sr.; children, Ashlyn, Austin, and Adam Spurr; brother, Rev. Danny (Shannon) Spurr; niece, Neleh Spurr; nephews, Tyler (Kim) Wilson, and Rev. Dillon Wilson; mother-in-law, Frances Westbrook; brother-in-law, Robby Westbrook; sister-in-law, Shannon (Timmy) Anderson; along with many  other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 5, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Danny Spurr, Rev. Craig Richard, Rev. Michael Cantrell, and Rev. Sam Rickett officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens with Rev. Dillon Wilson.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
