Carole Suzanne McNeal

Carole Suzanne “Strawberry” McNeal age 77 of Gainesville entered rest on Thursday May 27, 2021 at her residence.

Strawberry was born December 13, 1943 in Champlain, Illinois to the late James R. & Katherine Hodshire. She worked a number of years as a hairdresser, as well as taught cosmetology in Commerce. She also drove a school bus for Hall County School Systems for a number of years. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include, husband, Ray McNeal; son, David R. (Sheila)McNeal; daughter, Leah (Stephen) Sexton; grandchildren, Casey Barron, Jessica Elrod, Alex McNeal, Joseph McNeal & Jonah McNeal; great grandchildren, Cooper Barrs, Noah Barrs & Stetson Barron; sisters, Linda Gary & Ann Quintero. A host of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday June 3, 2021 at the St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Tim Hepburn officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Phil Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday June 2, 2021 at the funeral home.
