Zach Phillips

Zach Phillips, age 83, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Faye Pike Phillips; and grandson, Dylan Watts. Mr. Phillips is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Mary Ellen Whitt Phillips, Gallatin, TN; daughter, Dana Phillips, Buford, GA; grandchildren, Zachery and Laurie Phillips, Amanda Phillips, Victoria Watts and Kyndall Watts; three great grandchildren, Hannah Phillips, Jackson Phillips and Lillie Phillips; sister, Jeanette Chandler, Jacksonville, AL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank and Carolyn Pike, Piedmont, AL, Jack and Carol Pike, Piedmont, AL, Bobby and JoAnn Pike, Oakwood, GA, Thomas Pike, Mobile, AL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Phillips was born April 22, 1938 in Jacksonville, AL. He received his education at Roy Webb Elementary School and Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, AL. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Phillips was owner of Phillips Construction Company in Buford, GA and he built schools for the Gwinnett County School System. He was a member of Buford Church of God in Buford, GA.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. CDT at Piedmont Memory Gardens in Piedmont, AL with Rev. Tim Phillips officiating. There will be no public visitation at Flanigan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Buford Church of God, 4800 South Lee Street, Buford, GA 30518 in memory of Zach Phillips.
