Mr. Thomas “Hulk” Mark Seabolt, age 63, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021.
Thomas was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was born on February 11, 1958 to the late Herbert Thomas and Mary Alice Patton Seabolt. Being a true “nugget” and proud to call Dahlonega home was at the heart of Thomas Seabolt. He was given the name “Hulk” by friends due to his big stature, but time would prove his heart to be even bigger than that.
Thomas was a member of the Dahlonega Jaycees for over twenty years. He was inducted into the Library of Congress as a devoted member of the Georgia Jaycees. Thomas was a Colonel with the Georgia Jaycee Rebel Corps. He competed in the World Gold Panning Championship. He was very dedicated to the “Gold Rush Days”. Thomas’ love extended to the Jaycees Empty Stocking Fund. During Christmas one year he went to several different counties looking for a red pocketbook to fulfill a little girl’s only wish.
Thomas had worked for the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s office and then drove a truck for more than twenty years. He volunteered with the Lumpkin County Fire Department and he was a member of Yahoola Baptist Church. You could find Thomas most mornings at Dairy Queen as he was a longtime member of the Breakfast Club.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law Rebbeca and Josh Harkins, Dawsonville; brothers James Seabolt, Dahlonega, and Larry Seabolt, Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, May 21, 2021 at Yahoola Baptist Church. The Rev. Kris Butler and the Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
