Betty Abbott

Betty Abbott, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday May 11, 2021.

Born July 11, 1935 to the late Rufus and Elda Wilson, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County.  A homemaker at her death, she retired as a Parapro with the Dawson County School System.  Betty was a very active member of Concord Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband, William J. “Bill” Abbott and several sisters and brothers.

Surviving are her children, Tim and Lynne Abbott, Penny and Donny Burt, Todd and Lela Abbott, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Tiffany and Dan Ramsey, Derek and Michele Burt, Houston Abbott, Hunter Abbott; and great granddaughters, Emma Burt, Avery Ramsey and Addison Abbott.

Funeral services will be held Saturday May 15, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church.  Dr. Scott Gilbert and Rev. Ruben Smith will officiate.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
