Blake Daniel Oviedo

Mr. Blake Daniel Oviedo, age 26, of Dahlonega passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021.

Funeral Services will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2021 at Free Chapel at The Chapel on McEver with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Rev. ___ will officiate.  The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2021 at Free Chapel.

Mr. Oviedo was born January 28, 1995 to Vincent & Catherine Oviedo in Dunwoody.  A Veteran of the United States Navy, on May 8, 2021 he graduated with a Bachelor’s in International Affairs from the University of North Georgia as a Second Lieutenant after receiving an R.O.T.C. Scholarship.  He had a long baseball career, beginning at age four, playing during high school and college.  A huge dog lover, he had Pups, Maize, Nacho and Teddy, who adored him.  He was an avid cook, enjoyed martial arts, and loved the outdoors.

Mr. Oviedo is survived by his wife, Lindsey Oviedo of Cumming; parents, Vincent & Catherine Oviedo of Braselton; brother, Brandon Oviedo of Atlanta; sisters, Heather (Shane) Sudduth of Cumming; Gabrielle Holenstein of Winder and Ashley Thompson of Atlanta; maternal grandparents, Ted & Patricia Cox of Louisville, Kentucky; father-in-law & mother-in-law, James & Deborah England of Cumming; sisters-in-law, Erika (Jason) McElrea of Braselton and Megan England of Cumming; 3 nephews; and a host of aunts, uncles & cousins.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Zacarias & Momina Oviedo.
