Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Barney Clark, age 86, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021, at home.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, May 10, 2021 at New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Milton Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Tommy was born August 11, 1934 in Gainesville, Georgia. He was the son of the late Barney Clark and Lola (Wiley) Clark. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Clark.
He proudly served in the United States Army in the 101st. Airborne Division, where he was honorably discharged in 1957. He was the owner and operator of Delta Express Trucking for many years and after that was an integral part of Extreme Lawn Services.
Tommy married the late Joy Elaine Miller Clark on October 6, 1973 in Ringgold, Georgia. Both Tommy and Joy made a home and a life in Gainesville, Georgia where they had one son, Thomas Bradley Clark. Tommy always thought of others and would go out of his way to make sure that others were taken care of. He loved to be outside and had a passion for strong work ethics. Tommy was loved by many and was a positive light for so many people.
Tommy leaves a legacy of one son, three grandchildren and a brother.. Thomas Bradley Clark; granddaughters, Camille Rayne Clark, Emerson Joy Clark and Harper Anne Clark; brother, Donald Clark all of Gainesville, Georgia. He has several other cousins, nephews and nieces to remember him as well.
Tommy was a great man and a great father and will always be loved, cherished and deeply missed by all that knew him.
