Hebron Lovell, age 91 of Clarkesville, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
Born on June 19, 1929, Mr. Lovell was the son of the late Jethro Carlton Lovell and the late Bertha Nicholson Lovell. Mr. Lovell was a United States Army Veteran having served with the 4th Infantry Division in Germany. Following an honorable discharge, Mr. Lovell went to North Georgia Technical College to learn a trade on the GI Bill program. He was a self-employed Plumber and Electrician and served as a Habersham County Commissioner for over 15 years. Mr. Lovell was also an avid gardener and farmer and he raised chickens, cattle and pigs for over 50 years. He was a true servant and cared for others; he never met a stranger and he had a nickname for most everyone he knew. Mr. Lovell was a deacon and lifelong member of Hills Crossing Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lovell is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Joyce Wooten Lovell, son James Bryan Lovell, and siblings Isaac Newton Lovell, Jethro Earl Lovell, Buren Carlton Lovell, Edith Lovell Masters, Bynum F. Lovell and Hobert Corbin Lovell.
Survivors include daughters and sons in law Teresa Lovell Thomason (Jerry) of Mt. Airy, Janet Lovell Wilbanks (Ricky) of Baldwin and Dianne Lovell Perry (Jimmy) of Mt. Airy, daughter in law Judy Dill Lovell of Clarkesville, grandchildren Julia Thomason Braswell (James) of Mt. Airy, Justin Lovell (Katie) of Alto, Andrea Thomason of Mt. Airy, Jordan Lovell (Sasha) of Cornelia, Jeremy Perry (Emily) of Clarkesville, Chestney Wilbanks Davis (Austin) of Baldwin, Taylor Perry of Mt. Airy and Chase Wilbanks of Baldwin, great grandchildren Maddison Lovell, Chloe Braswell, Morgan Lovell, Colton Braswell, Lilah Gillespie, Isaiah Perry and Luke Perry, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 10, 2021 at Hills Crossing Baptist Church with Rev. Connie Berry, Rev. Tony Goss and Rev. David Stancil officiating. Interment will follow the service at Yonah Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
