Steven Michael Thomas

Mr. Steven Michael Thomas, age 64 of Hardy Road, Martin passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, May 1, 2021 at his residence.

A son of the late Dempsey Lee “Jack” Thomas and Barbara Connolly Thomas, he was born December 3, 1956 in Atlanta, Georgia having lived most all his life in Toccoa.  He worked in the family business, Cash and Thomas and E-Z Bore as a construction superintendent for a number of years and for the last 12 years had worked as a construction superintendent with Sol Construction, traveling all over the United States.  He was a member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church.  Anyone who knew Steve, knew what an exceptional cook he was and he never passed up an opportunity to try a new, noteworthy restaurant.  Steve also had a love for national parks.  Over the years, he and his wife, Debbie took a yearly trip to visit different national parks.  His hope was to see them all but two of his favorites were Glacier National Park in Montana and Acadia National Park in Maine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Britton Thomas and by a sister, Susan Hawkins.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Debora Rice Thomas; daughter and son-in-law, Bethany and Jake Johnson of Ringgold, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Bo and Erin Thomas of Lexington, South Carolina; step-daughter, Laura Brazil of Marietta; step-son, Andy Husk (Allison) of Dawsonville, Georgia; five grandchildren and one step-grandchild.; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Mary Anne Thomas of Toccoa.
