Mamie Reeves, 93, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born January 16, 1928 to the late Loland and Ethel Darnell, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Mamie was very devoted to her family, and was a loving wife and mother of eight children. She possessed a passion for cooking, she loved flowers, gardening, sewing, making crafts, and jigsaw puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Reeves; son, Fred Reeves; grandson, Brian Byrd; and sisters, Myrtis Ray and Mildred Lowe.
Surviving are her children, Priscilla Westbrook, Ralph Reeves, Peggy Moorehead, Barbara Padgett, Ronnie and Linda Reeves, Nicky Reeves and Jason Reeves; sisters, Louise Kent and Gladys Bennett; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday May 2, 2021 at 3 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jerry Orr will officiate. Interment will follow in the New Life Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday May 1 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the hour of service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to help offset final expenses.
