Mrs. Shirley Ann Armstrong, age 80, of Dahlonega passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021.
Mrs. Armstrong was born on December 7, 1940 in Hall County to the late Moses and Annabelle Roberts Tatum. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph “Noe” Armstrong; grandson Charles Armstrong; sister Shelby Berry; and brothers Sylvester Tatum and Troy Tatum. Mrs. Armstrong was a loving wife and mother. She displayed her love in many ways but one that stands above another is her cooking for friends, neighbors, and her family. You did not go to Shirley’s house and leave hungry. Her soap operas or “her stories” was her favorite pastime. Shirley was a caretaker at heart and a virtuous woman. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
Missing her most will be her children Roger Dover, Ralph Junior Armstrong (Kathleen), Joyce Armstrong, Vernon Lewis Armstrong, Rev. Kenneth Armstrong (Beverly), Melissa Gilbert (David), Melinda Holton (Jerry), and Jennifer Armstrong (Brittany), all of Dahlonega; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home. The Rev. Troy Foster, the Rev. James Wilbanks, and the Rev. Kenneth Armstrong will officiate. Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
