Rev. Guyrie K. Teasley was born on March 12, 1961 to the late Frank Kesler Jr. and Mary Lois Hale Kesler.
Rev. Teasley united with First Baptist Church at an early age under the pastorship of Rev. Calvin Williams. As a member of First Baptist Church she sang in the children’s choir and participated in the Youth Mission until she graduated from Gainesville High School in 1979. As a student at Gainesville High School she lettered in basketball, track and field, cheerleading, and was a member of FHA (Future Homemakers of America).
Rev. Teasley attended Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama from which she graduated in 1983. As a student at Stillman College she was a member of the Stillman College Choir, the Stillman College concert Choir, and was named Miss Kappa Alpha Psi. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Gainesville, Ga.
Rev. Teasley was a devoted employee of Conagra for 10 years and Wayne Farms LLC. for almost 20 years. Throughout this time, she was able to showcase her many talents throughout multiple departments.
Never ceasing to work Rev. Teasley found passion for the ministry. Devoting her life to a righteous cause she was posthumously ordained at First Baptist Church on April 25, 2021.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother (Frank Kesler Jr. and Mary Lois Hale Kesler), brothers (Gerald F. Kesler and Gary L. Kesler), two uncles (Article “Joe” Hale and Milton Haynes). She leaves to cherish her many loving memories; her husband (Ulysses Teasley), two children, Desiree McDuffie and Donald L. McDuffie Jr. (Amari), nine grandchildren, Kiyari McDuffie, Kymir McDuffie, Peyton McDuffie, Hannah Reid, Eden Reid, Maddison McDuffie, Braylen McDuffie, Kesler McDuffie, Saleyah McDuffie.
Sisters Gloria Maddox, Gwendolyn (Alvin) Johnson, Genelda Stovall, Georgette (Michael) Riggans. Uncles Robert L. (Cinderella) Hale, Clarence Haynes Jr., Rev. Dr. Richard B. Haynes (Beverly Haynes), Curtis (Diane) Haynes, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and more family as well as special friends Minister Phyllis Hollis and Jimmy Welchel.
The visitation is going to be held at First Baptist Church between the hours of 5-7pm on Thursday April 29th. The Celebration of Life will be held Friday April 30th at First Baptist Church at 11am. Professional Service Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
