Mrs. Shirley Martin Smith, age 86 of Price Street, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Logan and Edna Hamby Martin, she was born August 29, 1934 in Rabun County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Smith in 2016.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and David Cannon and Edna and Marty Littleton both of Toccoa; two sons and daughter-in-law, Joe and Marilyn Smith and Eddie Smith both of Toccoa; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 30, 2021, 4 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend David Souderes and The Reverend Isaac White officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Marty Joe Littleton, Barrett Smith, Joseph Smith, Mikah Collins, Josh McCurry and Jason Pritchett.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 2:30 p.m. until the service time. Due to the health and well-being of the community, social distancing must be observed. Masks are encouraged during the visitation and service. Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Shirley Martin Smith.
