Joyce Collard England

Obituary Date: Friday, April 23, 2021

Joyce Collard England, age 88, passed away peacefully April 23, 2021 at home following a short period of declining health.  She was born January 2, 1933 in Kyrock, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of the late Reverend Jesse Collard and Carmen Collard-Duggins.

Joyce loved to love on people. She would always walk up to her friends and family wanting a “healing hug”.  She loved to knit and sew making many afghans, porcelain dolls, cloth rabbits, clothes, and quilts. Her hands were rarely still.

For many years Joyce worked and retired from Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and had many happy memories of the people that she worked with. She was also an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Her life was a living example of Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Joyce was preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas James England, sons Richard H. Lewis and Michael W. Lewis, sister Eloise M. Cormney and her husband James H. Cormney, partner and caretaker John Woroschinski, and grandson SPC Matthew W. Ward.  She is survived by her daughter Virginia “Sissy” Lewis and Chris Stewart; grandchildren Sunshine Melissa Payne and Kevin Payne, Melissa Ward McKeen and Sam McKeen, Andrew Ward, Kelly Crystal Hughes and Bryan Hughes; great-grandchildren, Allie Claire Payne, Graceanne Lewis Payne, Alivia Joy McKeen, Aubrey Faith McKeen, Braedon Matthew McKeen, Bryce Steven McKeen, Caitlin Elise Myers, and many other relatives.

Please join us celebrating her life Saturday morning May 29th, 2021 between 10:00 a.m. — 12 Noon at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1397 Thompson Bridge Rd, Gainesville, GA 30501.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her granddaughter’s charity for premature babies:

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
