Ernest W. Couch

Mr. Ernest W. Couch, 90, of Lula, GA passed away on April 3, 2021.

Mr. Couch was born July 21, 1930 in Hall County, GA to the late Esbon K. and Josephine Grindle Couch.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Jimmie Evans Couch; sisters, Inez McDaniel, Ruby Henderson and Vivian Smith; brothers, Henry Couch, Roy Couch and granddaughter, Kelli Nix.

He was retired from Overnite Transportation Company with 31 years of service and was of the Baptist faith.

Ernest loved gardening, camping and spending time with family and friends. He was known to his grandkids as Pop.

Survivors include his daughter, Betty (Mark) Porter; sons, Mike (Sandra) Couch and Philip Nix; grandchildren; Kevin Nix, Stacia Charpiat, and Sean (Kristin) Couch; great grandchildren, Jeremy Nix, Peryn Dispain, Morgan Charpiat, Haydn Charpiat, Olivia Riley, Nicholas Riley and Mallory Couch; sisters, Virginia Segars and Rebecca Chastain; brother, Bill Couch.

The family will have a private gathering later this fall to spread the ashes of Ernest and Jimmie in the Blue Ridge Mountains, which they both loved.
