Mrs. Ruby Lee Pierce Brawner was born January 10, 1933 to the late Charlie and Gussie (Randolph) Pierce. She departed this life at Northeast Georgia Medical Center April 10, 2021. Mrs. Brawner was a member of the Black Springs Baptist Church in Commerce, Georgia serving faithfully for over 60 years assisting as the church treasurer. She also served at Antioch Baptist Church, Gainesville, Georgia for several years. She was associated with several local churches. She was a member of The Gainesville Prayer Band where she served as President for over forty years. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of the North East Georgia Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary for over forty years. In addition to volunteering, she also served the Prison Ministry, a member of the Sunshine Club and the Recipient of the 2018 Girl Scouts Women of Distinction Award. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Wallace Brawner; her daughter Sandra Brawner Harris; sisters: Alice Pierce, Melba Pierce; brothers: John D. Pierce, Charles M. Pierce; and son-in-law Freddie Stovall. She leaves to mourn her passing children: Shirley (Roger) Stephens, Carolyn Millsap, Wallace (Betsy) Brawner, Jr. (Pastor of The Cathedral, Frankfort, Ky), and Yonnah B. Stovall, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren , 1 great- great granddaughter. and a host nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 16th, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Saint John Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15th, 2021 between the hours of 12:00 PM - 08:00 PM at Wimberly Funeral Home. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly Funeral Home.
