Lanny Lee Roper

Mr. Lanny Lee Roper age 67 of Talmo, Ga passed away on Sunday April 11, 2021 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday April 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. John Kinsey will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday April 15, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Roper was born on January 17, 1954 in Gainesville, Ga to the late Richard “Fat” Roper and Nellie Faye Roper. He was the owner of Lanny Roper Grading. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Kenneth, Danny, Johnny and Bobby Roper.

Mr. Roper is survived by his wife, Janie Bryant Roper of Talmo, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Rusty Gravitt of Pendergrass, Ga, step-daughter, Rebecca Taylor of Talmo, step-daughter, Melissa Grizzle of Gainesville, brothers, Buddy Roper of Gainesville, Freddie Roper of Talmo, Frankie Roper of Mayville, sisters, Thelma Pinnell of Gainesville, Velma Cheek of Toccoa, grandchildren, Dauston Gravitt and Avery Gravitt, step-grandchildren,  Grayson Hall, Breanna Hall, Hannah Hall, Lydia Reed.

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that everyone attending the visitation and service wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
