William "Bill" A. Bellisle

Obituary Date: Thursday, April 8, 2021

William "Bill" A. Bellisle, age 95 of Clarkesville, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 following a period of declining health.

Born in Fort Gaines, Georgia July 8, 1925 to the late Walter D. Bellisle and the late Vickie Norwood Bellisle. Mr. Bellisle served in the United States Army, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and served in the Battle of Luzon in New Guinea.  He graduated from Georgia Tech University with an Engineer degree.  He worked as a Civil Engineer Consultant and had a great interest in bridges. Bill was a native of Maitland, Florida. Bill and Sheila came to Sautee and the North Georgia Mountains in 1995.  His wife Sheila passed away in 1998.  He then married his precious Margaret Black Cruce in 2000 who passed away in 2020.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bellisle is preceded in death by his first wife the late Sheila Sappington Bellisle and his second wife the late Margaret Black Cruce. Sister, the late Rosalyn Bellisle Bloomer, brother-in-law the late Hank Bloomer Jr., brother, the late Walter N. Bellisle, Sr., Nephew the late Hank Bloomer, Jr., sister-in-law the late Beverly Black Coffer, brother-in-law the late Jerry “Red” Black and brother-in-law the late John Larry Black.

Survivors include nephew Walter N. Bellisle, Jr (Donna) of Newnan, nephew Daniel Bloomer (Linda) of Houston, Texas, step daughter Pennie Cruce Cobb of Clarkesville and her brother Michael Cruce (Nancy) of Cleveland,  sister-in-law Carolyn Black Landrum (Everett) of Clarkesville, sister-in-law Barbara Black Green of Clarkesville, brother-in-law Jimmy Black (Linda Jean) of Demorest, sister-in-law Beth Black of Clarkesville, several great nieces and great nephews as well as extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Hillside Memorial Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday prior to the service from 1-2 PM. Private interment will be held at a later date at the Veterans National Cemetery in Canton.
