Donald Lee Sandefur

Donald Lee Sandefur, age 81, of Cleveland, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021.

Don was born on March 3, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Lee and Marie Sandefur.  They moved to Florida where Don worked for Florida Power for 36 ½ years.  He proudly served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne for 3 years.  After retirement he moved to Cleveland, Georgia.  He and his wife Celeste were married for 41 years.  They have 2 children, daughter, Captain Melissa Sandefur, U.S. Army, and son, Kevin Sandefur.  They attended and were members at Cleveland United Methodist Church.  Mr. Sandefur was secretary of his 82nd Airborne Association.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center for the care they provided to Donald.

Survivors include his wife, Celeste Sandefur, Cleveland; daughter, Melissa Sandefur, Boston, MA; son, Kevin Sandefur, Cleveland.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery at a later date. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
